Hubei CPI up 8% in May

       The consumer price index (CPI) of central China's Hubei Province rose 8 percent in May over the same month last year, according to National Bureau of Statistics Hubei branch.

¡¡¡¡The figure is 0.7 percentage points lower than the growth in April due to the drop of food price by 0.7 percent.

¡¡¡¡Meat prices decreased 2.1 percent, while cooking oil went down 15.3 percent, with vegetables decreasing 2.4 percent.

¡¡¡¡The figure was in excess of the government's annual target of 4.8 percent.

¡¡¡¡China's (CPI), the main gauge of inflation, in May was 7.7 percent up.
