By August 2008 virtually all of Yichang's public places will have to be smoke-free, as a city-wide smoking ban will come into effect across Yichang City, according to a Government order released yesterday by authority.

Various inflammable and explosive locations, medical institutions, teaching areas of schools, nurseries, theatres, internet bars, libraries, archives, museums, all kinds of exhibition halls, indoor stadiums, public transports and any work vehicles (facilities) used by more than one person, shops, supermarkets, business premises, public meeting rooms, and any other places with no-smoking signs will all be no smoking zones.
